NetCode Explained

NetCode. Complete Control Wherever You Are.

What is NetCode?

NetCode is the smart way to generate time-sensitive codes which can allow temporary access via the Codelocks API, the K3 Connect App* or through the online NetCode Portal.

Set NetCodes to start at a specific time and date for a set duration, then send via email or SMS**. Using time-sensitive NetCodes is a more secure way to grant access as they do not work outside of their designated timeslot. Issue NetCodes to visiting service engineers, delivery personnel and short or medium-term locker rental.

Are there different types of NetCode?

There are five types of NetCode available***:

  • Short-term Standard Single-use NetCode

Between 1 to 12 hours and 1 to 7 days, can only be used once within its duration.

  • Short-term Standard Multi-use NetCode

Between 1 to 12 hours and 1 to 7 days, can be used multiple times within its duration.

  • Medium-term Rental 1-21 Day NetCode (ACC mode)

Between 1 to 21 days, must be used within the first 24 hours to validate the NetCode for the rest of its duration.

  • Long-term Rental 365 NetCode (URM mode)

Up to 365 days, must be used within the chosen validation period, between 1 to 12 hours and 1 to 7 days, to validate the NetCode for the rest of its duration. A new NetCode will automatically block the previously known NetCode when used.

  • End Date NetCode

Ends at a specified time and date within the next 365 days.  By default a new NetCode will automatically block the previously known NetCode when used.

  • 24 Hour NetCode

Up to 24 hours starting on the hour, at any hour of the day.

Additional NetCode Features***

  • Send NetCodes via SMS** and Email

Send NetCodes directly from the NetCode Portal or K3 Connect App* via SMS or email.

  • Request NetCode via SMS**

Using the Netcode Portal and the lock's unique ID, authorised phone numbers can request an instant 2 hour Standard Multi-use NetCode.

  • New NetCode Blocks Previous NetCode

This feature automatically blocks the last used NetCode when a new NetCode is entered.

  • Personal User Code

Allow a NetCode user to create a personal 4 digit number that retains the same validity period as their originally located NetCode.

  • Block a NetCode

Block a NetCode directly on the lock using either the Master Code, the K3 Connect App* or another valid NetCode.

  • NetCode Grace Period

NetCodes operate from a specific date and time, using this you can set a grace period of up to 15 minutes either side of the NetCode time set. This is useful for bookings to allow a little flexibility on the code time period.****
