KitLock will be showcasing its range of keyless entry cabinet locks at this year’s Data Centre World exhibition. Visitors to stand no J75 will be able to find out how to secure server racks, rack mount cabinets and cages in computer rooms without having to manage large numbers of keys, fobs or cards.
Managing keys on a large scale can be time consuming, especially when access control is a high priority. Data centre, facilities or IT managers need to be able to restrict access to servers and equipment locked in cabinets, while enabling authorised engineers and customers to have access to hardware under their control. To achieve this with traditional locks and padlocks, the right keys have to be issued to the right people, replacement keys need to be cut when keys go missing and some locks may even need changing to guard against the use of unauthorised keys.
KitLock is a durable electronic cabinet lock, designed as a direct replacement for standard key cam locks, providing simple keypad access using a four-digit user code.
With KitLock a master code can be used to easily delete and reset the user codes, saving a great deal of time and money. In ‘private’ function, the same code can be used over and over again by an individual or a small group of people. Regular user code changes will help prevent any misuse and maintain security.
There are two products available in the KitLock range. The KitLock KL1000 is a small electronic lock that can be installed horizontally with right-hand and left-hand models available. The KitLock KL1200 has an audible keypad and is supplied with a selection of spindle adaptors, which allow it to be installed on cabinets or lockers with varying door thicknesses.

KitLock is a convenient and stylish alternative to traditional key cam locks that uses a four-digit code rather than a key to secure lockers and cabinets. Key management can be a major concern for facilities, estates or maintenance managers looking after lockers or cabinets in schools, universities, hospitals, data centres, gyms and leisure centres, due to the high numbers that get lost or stolen. KitLocks are stylish, very easy to fit and are sold with ‘everything you need in the box’ to fit them, including parts, instructions and templates.
